The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) has recently teamed up with Universal Studios Orlando to create an innovative STEM workshop for music education and about 75 MMS, MHS/MCCA band and choir students will benefit during a trip in January, thanks in part to the Foundation for Public Education! In our last meeting, we granted funds to assist these students to attend this workshop. The workshop is titled "Sound Design: Music and the Art of Foley". The workshop dives into students working with music professionals to create and record music and all sound effects behind the scenes of a movie. The workshop follows 5 of our educational standards of excellence and teaches students about job opportunities in the music industry outside of teaching. Students will be fundraising for this trip as well, so please be on the lookout and help them as you are able.
