⚽️🐅 MHS Girls Soccer will enter Round 3 of the GHSA State Playoffs on Monday, April 29 against Mt. Vernon at Metter's The Jungle at 5 pm. Due to the construction and school traffic release, please enter the "middle/second" entrance between Metter High School and the K8 Complex AFTER 3:30 pm. Gates to the stadium will not open until 3:30 pm. Tickets are GoFan electronic tickets only and are $7 each. Tickets will go on sale this afternoon (Friday). We will update this post with the direct link at that time. Come out and cheer on your history-making Tigers Soccer Team! 🧡🖤

⚾️GHSA Baseball State Playoff Announcement: Round 2 of the Baseball State Playoffs will begin on Monday, April 29 at 4 pm in Metter at Tiger Stadium. It will be a doubleheader against Crawford County. GHSA requires GoFan electronic tickets for admission. No Booster Passes are allowed. $10 per ticket. Tickets will be available for purchase on GoFan Friday afternoon. Gates will open at 3:30 due to school traffic. Remember to please enter the school using the "middle" entrance AFTER 3:30 pm (one entrance past Metter High School coming from Metter) due to construction and follow the road around to the baseball field. 🐅🏆 GO TIGERS!!

MHS Girls Soccer Team wins the second round of playoffs against Temple 4-3 after two overtimes and two sets of penalty kicks!!

MHS Baseball clinched Round 1 of the playoffs with two wins over Jefferson Co 10-0, and 17-1.

Attention: Minor accident involving a school bus this morning on South Lewis Street. No students were on board. There were no injuries and minimal damage.

Come one, come all, to the greatest show on earth: The Reading Carnival. We had a wonderful turn out at the annual Reading Carnival. Thank you to all those who enjoyed the booths and activities and those who shared their experiences with reading with us. We had close to 400 attend.

ATHLETES!! We’re excited to be utilizing the Dragonfly online platform for our upcoming sports physicals on April 23. Free Physicals will be offered to all Metter High School student athletes (competing during the 2024-25 school year) on April 23 immediately afterschool in the MHS Commons Area. Please see the attached flyer to help guide you through setting up your Dragonfly account, which will need to be completed by the parent PRIOR to physicals. Students will also need to have access to the account on physical day via their phone, or the ability to take photos of the physical paperwork to be uploaded by the parents later. ⚽️ MHS Girls Soccer won their first round of state playoffs 5-0 and the MHS Boys Soccer won their first round as well 6-0!! Amya Walker and Damaris Alverado each scored 2 goals and Johnny Elizalde scored 4 goals!

The Candler County School District will host its annual Reading Carnival on Saturday, April 20 from 11 am until 1 pm at the K8 Complex. There will be lots of free activities for all ages and free lunch for all! Please join us! ¡Sábado! Metter Middle School Tigers Baseball Team is the Southeast Middle School Baseball Champions after defeating ECI today 11-10! 🏆⚾🧡🖤🐅

Metter High School Boys Soccer will also play their first playoff game against Bleckley County on the same day at 7 pm. This is the first ever home playoff game for the boys or girls teams! Layla Smith, MCCA’s local FLEX winner and owner of Lens+Lettering, will be competing in the state FLEX Finals on Friday, April 12. The competition will be divided into two portions. The first portion will be from 11:30am-12:30 pm. Layla will present a 1-2 minute elevator speech sometime during this timeframe. The judges will also have a private interview with her earlier in the day. From the elevator speech and interview, the judges will select the top 3 businesses. Only the top 3 businesses will give their full presentation at 1:30 pm and can be viewed live as well. If you would like to see all the businesses’ elevator speeches, they will be available on livestream at www.youtube.com/@georgiaflexcompetition from 11:30am-12:30pm.

MMS Varsity Baseball have won their first Region Bracket game against Bryan County with a score of 13-1. They will play again tomorrow (Wed, April 10) at 4:30 pm at the Metter Rec Department against South Tattnall. Come out and support the Tigers!!

Your Metter High School Varsity Baseball Team is REGION 3A-Div 1 CHAMPIONS!!! They defeated Screven County today 16-6 in the bottom of the 6th inning. Tigers were tied with Bryan County for the Championship, but with tonight's win and our win over the series with Bryan, Tigers were named Champions.

Let's fill the stadium today!! MHS Varsity Tiger Baseball will take on Screven County to finish out the series AND to determine the Region Champs! WHEN the Tigers win, they will become the Region Champions for 2024!
