On March 27th, in the early morning, a student from Metter High School made a verbal threat towards the school in the presence of a teacher. Fortunately, the teacher responded quickly and informed the administration, who then contacted the School Resource Officers. The law enforcement authorities were able to remove the student from the premises. The student will face appropriate disciplinary action according to the severity of the threat. Candler County Schools is unapologetically committed to ensuring the safety and security of all our students and staff. We’d like to thank our local Sheriff’s Office for their prompt assistance in this matter.
