Hello, my name is Mrs. Sherry Tyler and I teach Science and Social Studies for 2nd grade. I have currently finished my 28th year of teaching. Part of those years were teaching 2nd and 3rd grade, and have enjoyed every single year with my students. I have lived in Metter for 53 years and am proud to call Metter my home.

My favorite part of teaching my students is seeing them get excited for learning and how to be a scientist and a historian. There is nothing more rewarding to me than when my students finally make a connection and really understand what they are learning about. I enjoy challenging my students to think critically and explain to me what they are thinking and why they are thinking about the content they are learning.

I am married to Allen Tyler and have a step daughter; Jessica Coleman, and a son; Jordan Tyler. I have two adorable grandsons; Caleb Coleman (9) in the 4th grade, and Cade Coleman (4) Pre-K.

I am looking forward to the 23-24 school year and all of the learning that will take place in our classroom. I am proud to work for the Candler County School system and believe we have the best school system in south east Georgia.
